API Support

Our globally distributed application cloud provides the power to consume and process billions of requests per day for our customers. The Unicorn Media Application stack contains end-to-end solutions that allow our customers to deliver their media – from start to finish, with one company, in the most cost-effective and efficient way. All services built within the application are part of a closed API that is accessed via customized Software Development Kits (SDK).

Functions Available Within an SDK

Utilizing the API can give a customer functionality into many of features used by the standard media platform offering as well as features that are included within the application stack. These functions include options for custom player integration, analytics, content upload, asset management, user management, social networking and content syndication. The functionality of the SDK is always evolving, therefore SDK’s are built to provide access into the current scope of the API.

API SDK Interface Methods

The UnicornMedia SDK gives customers a variety ofmethods in which they can interface with the API. Each API call is not limited to a particular web service, but rather accessible within any web service that has been assigned to a customized account. This gives customers flexibility in their development process to utilize the API within a number of different architectures.
  • SOAP (PHP, .NET, Java and Ruby)
  • JSON (JavaScript)
  • REST (PHP, .NET, Java and Ruby)
  • AMF (Flash/Flex/Adobe Air)

Gaining Access to an SDK

Customers will utilize the Unicorn Media SDK in order to gain access into the API. Each SDK is unique, adding a level of security and customization for each individual customer. Our solutions architects and account representatives are skilled in qualifying and designing the proper SDK to ensure that they are tailored specifically to the needs of the customer.
