Kit Smith and Tanya Livingstone
Kit & Tanya first met 12 years ago right after Kit recorded his first album, Stronger Man, in 1996 (Bitemark Records). He asked if she would be interested in doing some live performances with him in support of that album, and after hearing it, she readily agreed. Their musical connection led to a deep friendship and respect for each other so they continued to perform together throughout the years, while also being involved in outside projects and raising families. In 2005, they decided to collaborate as co-writers for the first time having lots of material since they were both going through major life changes. The result was Central Connection released in 2006 on Song Crisis Records and is a collection of songs that reflect on that year of their lives and their new-found feelings for each other. Kit and Tanya continue to write award-winning songs recognized by organizations like West Coast Songwriters.Blurring the lines between Americana, Folk and Pop, their music is passionate and heartfelt and enjoyed by audiences everywhere. As Performing Songwriter put it, Their harmonies are tighter than your granny's throw rug! Look for the their newest release, The Hardest Part coming May 1st!
